Mr. Rizal Algamar
Rizal Algamar is the Chairman of the Executives Board of Filantropi Indonesia and the Southeast Asia Regional Director at the Tropical Forest Alliance hosted by the World Economic Forum. With 25+ years of experience in corporate and non-profit sectors, Rizal’s background includes international business development, sustainable development, environment, conservation, and natural resources management, managing and developing diverse teams, impact investing, and entrepreneurship capacity building for micro and small businesses across the archipelago. Before that, Rizal was the Country Director and Executive Director of The Nature Conservancy – Indonesia Program, a leading, oldest, and largest US-based conservation organization from 2012 to 2019, and Chairperson of the Board of Executive and Management of Yayasan Konservasi Alam Nusantara since 2015 to 2019.
Previously, he worked with the Putera Sampoerna Foundation, the largest private foundation in Indonesia, providing access to quality education as Head of Partnership. Prior to joining The Conservancy, he was the Senior Vice President at Bank BTPN, a leading bank that focuses on empowering the mass market, where he led and designed, developed, and implemented successful bank-wide integrated corporate social responsibility (CSR) and creating shared value (CSV) programs that enhance value for customers and employees in health & wellness, entrepreneurial capacity-building and training with the goals to improve customer’s businesses, livelihood and health, thus creating the bank’s distinct value proposition.
