Advance Look:Planned Assembly Sessions
OPENING PANEL:
NATURE, ENERGY AND INDUSTRY IN A NET-ZERO WORLD
Asia – with the Middle East included – accounts for over 50% of global emissions, with an expected 5% growth in the coming decade. The high-level panel will feature the hosts of the event to welcome guests and set the tone for further discussions. The panel will focus on nature, energy and finance-related insights that can help the region carve out its unique trajectory while collaborating globally for impactful climate solutions.
THREE CATALYTIC SESSIONS:
WITH SEVEN ROUNDTABLES IN EACH SESSION
The breakout sessions, each 45 minutes with no more than 25 people per session, embrace an unconference format, which is everything a conference is typically not: intimate, interactive and inclusive. Each participant, esteemed as a regular C-suite conference presenter, is encouraged to contribute by sharing a project or opportunity, catalysing engaging dialogues among peers. The sessions are curated with the guests.
SESSION 1: FINANCING THE TRANSITION
While Asia and the developing world confronts monumental sustainable investment needs, the challenge of financing the transition of hard-to-abate industries and the coal phase-out remains. How can financial innovation and the private sector contribute and catalyse change?
SESSION 2: SCALING NET-ZERO INNOVATION ACROSS ASIA
Asia accounts for 40% of global economic output and is also home to vast natural carbon sinks in the form of forests, peatlands, and mangroves. Innovation will be critical for the region’s industries to grow in line with a net-zero future and also for the protection and restoration of natural resources. What are some of the best practices and which ones can scale best in Asia?
SESSION 3: PARTNERSHIPS ACROSS BORDERS
Complexity governs our world. From geopolitical relationships, to reinforcing feedback loops between climate change and biodiversity loss, our world and its problems are inextricably linked. Where are the opportunities in which ecosystem actors can collaborate to spur meaningful change across borders?
COCKTAIL & DINNER:
FOR LASTING CONNECTIONS
The day-closing cocktail party and dinner are as thoughtfully curated as the rest of the Assembly to foster enduring relationships within a distinctive setting, ensuring an exceptional environment for meaningful relationships, business building and collaboration.
